Survios Raises $50 Million
Virtual reality game maker Survios announced to raise $50 million dollars in a pair of rounds. The funding rounds were led by MGM Studios and Lux Capital. The other investors included Shasta Ventures, Danhua Capital, Shanda Holdings, Felicis Ventures and Dentsu Ventures.
 
High Fidelity Raises $22 million
Social VR company High Fidelity has raised $22 million. The company is led by Second Life founder Philip Rosedale, and provides the tools to build or explore social virtual worlds. The latest investment brings the total funding of the company to $39.45 million in 5 rounds.
 
STRIVR Raises $5 Million
Virtual reality sports training company STRIVR Labs Inc. raised $5 million. The funding group is led by Signia Venture Partners and includes BMW AG’s iVenture’s unit. The company was founded in 2014 by Derek Belch, a former Stanford University football player and assistant coach, with Jeremy Bailenson, a professor who heads Stanford’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab.
 
Boom Raises $3.5 Million
3D live streaming company Boom raises $3.5 million in a seed round. The company aims to bring 3D live streaming to e-sports. The round included First Round Capital, Tandem Capital, Crosscut Ventures, Betaworks, Boost VC, BITKRAFT eSports Ventures and select angel investors.
 
Drifter Entertainment Raises $2.25 Million
Seattle based VR game studio Drifter Entertainment, raised $2.25 million to develop competitive multiplayer virtual reality games. The round was led by Signia Venture Partners, with participation from Initialized Capital, Presence Capital, The VR Fund, Pathbreaker Ventures, and Anorak Ventures.
 
Loom.ai Raises $1.35 Million
San Francisco based Loom.ai has raised $1.35 million in seed funding. The company builds a system that allows users to create a realistic avatar with a single photo.
