Ever wondered what it would be like to have two full sleeves, or even a head tatt?
A team of artists from east London-based studio NR PROJECT are offering a “virtual reality” tattoo experience at the 13th London Tattoo Convention this weekend.
The performance piece “There Is No Time Like the Present” from British tattoo artists Hanumantra and Paul Goodwin will provide revelers with an “immersive visual experience”.
For this, the two have created “unique bodysuits” that will go on show and then 3D animations of their designs will be projected onto the bodies of contemporary dancers.

It forms part of a two-part exhibition curated by Inês Valle which aims to “surpass usual suppositions associated with tattoo art,” the synopsis reads.
The second exhibit is a virtual tour, titled Haris Nukem: Humans, that allows you to explore works about perspectives on the “young, impulsive and empowered tribe.”
It displays “our inner animal states, matched only by fragile and sober contrasts,” the description reads, “from candid sensibilities to provocative emotion.”
Valle will also showcase three ongoing art installations inside a black box at the Tobacco Dock’s Art Gallery, called “Individualized”.
This will include a 3D video body-mapped performance by DotsToLines, a video documentary and a selection of works by the Survivor’s Ink Archive.
“The exhibition discloses powerful stories of human trafficking survivors and how tattoo art can have a bigger purpose in someone’ skin.”
