Nonny de la Pena Joins SXSW Keynote Speakers’ List

South by Southwest has added more speakers to its lineup two weeks ahead of the annual film, music and technology event.

Organizers of the two-week confab have announced that Sen. Bernie Sanders will join CNN anchor Jake Tapper on stage for a conversation, and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will sit for an interview with Politico’s Edward-Isaac Dovere.

Among the Hollywood names who will be making the trek to Austin for the two-week confab are Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, Blumhouse Productions CEO Jason Blum, CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King, Paramount TV and Digital Entertainment president Amy Powell and actresses Dakota Fanning and Niecy Nash.

SXSW is also adding another keynote speaker. Nonny de la Pena, the founder and CEO of Emblematic Group, will join the convergence track of the festival to discuss her work in the virtual and augmented reality space.

“A visionary storyteller, Nonny de la Pena has redefined the standard for how human creativity and technology can work together seamlessly to create engaging narratives and life-changing experiences,” said SXSW chief programming officer Hugh Forrest. “As we head into the 25th year of film and interactive, de la Pena’s work is emblematic of the cross-industry adaptation and experimentation we see trending in both festivals.”
SXSW runs from March 9-18.
