Assassin’s Creed Stars Fassbender, And VR

The long-awaited movie adaptation of Assassin’s Creed finally arrives in theaters on December 21st. The hugely popular video game is a fictional history of the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control.

One of the main devices used in the story is a virtual reality machine called Animus, a futuristic device that unlocks genetic memories. A new clip released today, provides us a closer look at how this fictional machine works.

Very much different from a simple VR headset to strap on our face, the Animus is more like a Matrix-inspired machine attached to the spinal cord of the subject. The new clip shows us how the main character Callum Lynch (played by Michael Fassbender) connects to Animus to relive the memories of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha from over 500 years ago in the Spanish Inquisition.
